I spied Steven and John at a wedding fayre and I instantly had them in my sights, they just oozed personality and fun! The wedding was at a place I know and love well, Venachar Lochside just outside of Callander with the preparations taking place at Forest Holiday Lodges Strathyre. I’ve stayed here myself and it’s just amazing, starry skies, hot tubs, and the sound of the water from the Loch, so romantic (in a glamping kind of way!).
The trip to Callander is only an hour from Glasgow but you feel like you are much further away, it’s a magical place where the air just smells different, clean and fresh, and very highland! The Lochside setting is beautiful but takes on a life of its own in the evening dusk, the perfect time and place for a quick few extra photos before dancing.
The weather gods were on my side again (thank you!) and the sun was shining – if a bit windy – as the day kicked off. The lovely Beverley Bryant did a great job of holding onto her dress as the wind whipped and the grooms came down the aisle and the ceremony went off without a hitch. Confetti and congrats then we were off to Little Druim Wood for some hiking and photos – it was a climb and I may have been a tad sweaty Betty by the top!
The speeches were hilarious and touching, I may have shed a little tear here and there, and then the boys headed out for some evening shots at the Lochside, cue me lying on the metal cheese grater style pier to get the shot…..nothing I won’t do, go on and dare me!
We headed home with pots of pudding stuffing our faces and the tunes on in the car. When your face is sore from laughing you know it’s been a good one, congrats Steven and John!
